This is good news for Russ and Mike:
“It took a few weeks to work out the details, but pretty much on the day that I announced Mowser was shutting, the guys at dotMobi got in touch with us interested in the service. Today is the official announcement that they’ve acquired the site and technology, and will be adding to their growing number of services targeted at mobile publishers. James Pearce has written a bit more here about the acquisition.”
Apple has come out with an iPhone Webapp directory today, and it features Russell Beattie’s Mowser
“Woohoo!! I got contacted a few weeks ago about this, and almost forgot to submit my info until yesterday. Check it out, Mowser is in Apple’s iPhone Webapp Directory! Hooray! Doesn’t look too bad, hey? Suddenly maxing out that credit card a few months ago seems like a great investment. Awesome.
I’ll have to check out how the directory looks on the iPhone itself, and how much traffic this drives. But this is great, I’m very excited.”
Congrats, Russ. Hope this works out for you.
Welcome back, Russell – we missed you!
“Mowser is short for “mobile browser†and is meant to enable any site to go mobile simply by adding a link through mowser.com, for example: http://mowser.com/web?url=www.wikipedia.com”
Russ also has a blog and a PDF presentation.
Great to see you’re blogging again – can’t wait to see where this is going!
