Flickr: Rome

I spent the weekend in Rome with my wife (her birthday present). We were lucky enough to get a full day of sunshine on saturday, having been greeted by rain and thunderstorm when we arrived.

Sunday was pretty good as well and allowed us to do some additional sightseeing and shopping. Our flight back was delayed by several hours due to an icy landing strip back home.

Rome is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in terms of the mix of architecture and hostory. We got into the vatican on saturday morning without any queue, and man was it worth it – the amount of wealth and art they store in there is simply breathtaking. Regrettably we were not allowed to take pictures in the sistine chapel, but believe me – you want to see this.

I have finished editing the first batch of pics, they’re in this Flickr set. Enjoy.
