New iPod mini

I received my new iPod Mini yesterday (6 gig, silver) – after some hassle with the parcel service (“I’m not home before 5:30” doesn’t mean you should come at 5:25!!).

When I started opening the parcel, I actually feared someone had made a mistake and send me the iPod Shuffle instead – the new packaging is INCREDIBLY small.

I sold my 40 gig iPod again because it was too big for daily use – the Mini is perfect now. This morning I noticed an interesting detail: when I unplugged my FM transmitter when leaving the car, the current track went on pause – automatically. That’s exactly the amount of thoughtfulness and design that still gives the iPod the edge over all those other players that look so much superior on data sheets…
