Mobile wallets start to take shape

textually.org reports, based on a BBC article, that mobile payment is starting to take off.

“Simpay claims to be the first service that has “critical mass”.” Uhu. Surely that’s why T-Mobile Germany shuts down their mobile wallet service.

“Already people have been killed for their mobile handsets and if they contained stored credit, this might become more common.” WHAT? *I* don’t even know about a single playce where I could pay with a mobile wallet (and I worked in the industry for a few years) – so how would a thief know?

It’s sad to see that after all these years, we’re still talking in terms of statistics about mobile payment. Maybe this means that there’s no demand after all…
