How much would you pay for Google?

I just had a chat with a friend on the phone, and he mentioned how he googled something recently.

Imagine Google switching off their servers and asking for a monthly payment of, say, $5 to let you use Google again. Would you pay, or would you switch?

I can’t tell you why, but I guess I would pay. What would you do?

  1. Nothing.

There has been plenty of improvement in the non-google segment of the search engine market. Try web.de, yahoo, and others for size once in a while. You are using Google, because you are used to it, but there is plenty of replacement available once Google forces you to break the google-stare and offers you the opportunity to look around you.
