Let’s get rid of small change

(Inspired by PapaScott) The english version of the F.A.Z. has an article written by an Australian living in germany about our “Obsession with small change“.

There’s a lot of truth to it. People are used to being fooled by “9.99” prices, even though most people will say “keep the change” or put it into a donation box. Since we got the Euro, I’d reckon lines at checkout stands have doubled. I still have to look at each coin to figure out its worth – I thought this would have come more natural in the meantime.

So, I’ll sign that petition – let’s get rid of the small change. They’re only trying to fool us with such prices anyway.
