King George W. Bush

Reading the speech of Sen. Zell Miller of Georgia at the RNC, I’m beginning to be scared of how the republicans seem to see themselves (if YOU’re not scared – watch how Russ sees them):

“Never in the history of the world has any soldier sacrificed more for the freedom and liberty of total strangers than the American soldier. And, our soldiers don’t just give freedom abroad, they preserve it for us here at home.

For it has been said so truthfully that it is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.”

Whoa! Let’s make all citizens soldiers, then, uh? Btw., how did your great leader do as a soldier?

“Now, while young Americans are dying in the sands of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, our nation is being torn apart and made weaker because of the Democrat’s manic obsession to bring down our Commander in Chief.”

Ahem…. like Dave Winer says: “Yes, that’s right, it’s called an election. Geez Louise. Let me know when these guys get serious.”

I’m afraid they are already.

Update Sep 08: Jimmy Carter has some words for Sen. Zell Miller.
