Bye bye Orkut

I terminated my Orkut membership today.

I signed up in january, invited some friends, joined a few groups, and that was about it. I browsed through famous people’s networks – some fake, some not. I have not been able to find anything useful in there at all.

Yesterday, a friend emailed me that he got that invitation from me this week. The funny thing was: I hadn’t sent out any invitations in three months, so it seems Orkut keeps re-sending those until people sign up. That’s something I do not want. And as I didn’t use it anyway, and it sent me lots of SPAM to my mailbox, the decision was an easy one.

Interesting concept – but no real use. Maybe next time.
