It’s official now – I’m a Microsoft-bashing Symbian fanatic

And I didn’t even know that (how could I – I do not even own a Symbian phone…). But thanks to the eye-opening piece on msmobiles.com, I am now enlightened:
“While blog of Russell Beattie is only written by himself, his another, less known (Google-wise) creation is Mobitopia, that theoretically is platform agnostic but in fact is just another place where Russell and also some other Microsoft-bashing Symbian fanatics are writing.”
I’m honored. Really. But you could have at least mentioned me as well…
Wait, while you’re at it, let me point you to more Microsoft-bashing fanatics: Jim Hughes, Matthew Langham, Diego Doval, Tom Hume, Martin Little, Ewan Spence, Matt Croydon, Anil de Mello, Chris Davies, David Thomson, Giles Radford and Erik C. Thauvin. You’ll find pictures on most of these pages. Good thing you have versioning for your article (in MS SourceSafe???), you will need more revisions.

  4. It seems to me that the caustic, bitter writing is more indicitive of a nasty person than any accusation levied at Russ about his beliefs in Symbian or any OS for that matter. I've certainly never found him to be vehemently anti-MS. He has the same issues any MS user has and publicly expresses. Personally I moved to Mac for music related reasons, but stick with it for numerous other. Ease for one. I recently had to install XP onto a recent machine and it managed to lose loads of drivers. I manually installed the correct driver from the using the select from a list option, but needless to say it didn't work. Anyway it's working now. Of course it was only being upgraded to XP to use iTunes for music playback but I digress. (Meanwhile back on topic). I think that complaining about relevent issues helps highlight things for both developers and users and is an essential part of the lifecycle of any iterative product. However that person on msmobiles? Get a life guy. Just because Symbian isn't MS doesn't mean it's useless or bad or 'Nasty'.
