PayPal Europe to launch soon – maybe with mobile enhancements?

(via Erik:) Scott Loftesness reports that PayPal will soon be launching their european service. This is a bit old news to me, as I had an interview with them some months ago. The Reuters article Scott points to has some incorrect statements, too: contrary to what it says, PayPal has been available to german users for quite some time, even working with direct debit on german checking accounts.
One more interesting tidbit from me: the managing director of PayPal europe will be Mathias Entenmann, founder of paybox, the first mobile payment service to be in broad use by consumers. I can’t imagine that he’ll be able to forget this, so hopefully we’ll see some nice mobile features added to PayPal. This could be a killer…
