Microsoft pays for switchers

Microsoft today pulled an anti-Apple ad (only available in Google cache – get it while you can) which supposedly tries to react to Apple’s “Switch” campaign. They had to admit they paid a freelance writer to come up with the story.
The best part of the story: “The key to getting hardware to work with your computer is to have the correct drivers, the software that enables your PC to communicate with your hardware.” Oh yes, Windows users do indeed know that… :)

[later] Dave tells us the woman in the ad is a model. At $49, this was cheap. There are also some more copies of the ad, should Google delete it. This is Cluetrain live…
