MacOS 10.6.4 – Mouse moving randomly

Ever since I installed the 10.6.4 update my mouse started jumping randomly across the screen – often into active corners, starting the screen saver.

At first I thought the batteries were empty or the mouse needed cleaning, but that didn’t help. Neither did using a mouse pad.

It seems this is not an isolated issue:

I even connected my Logitech Laser Mouse (which I’m going to use in the future instead of my MagicMouse – it’s just too good…), and it shows the same identical issue.

Any ideas?

UPDATE: It seems to be connected to the Magic Mouse after all – when I tested the Logitech I had the Magic Mouse still switched on and connected, too. Once I switched the Magic Mouse off, the pointer behaved well again.

AppStore for MacOS

Well, I think Apple has established the iTMS AppStore as a well working vehicle for commercial and free software distribution.

Wouldn’t it be a logical step to enhance that platform to allow distribution for MacOS apps (and maybe even Windows Apps), too?

Lots of iPhone developers are also MacOS developers – I’m sure they’d approve of that idea.

Eee PC 1000H now runs MacOS X, too

I’ve been wanting a lightweight travel machine for ages. I’ve been looking longingly at the MacBook Air as several folks I know own one, but the price has always been too high for me to easily justify to myself. And with the recent price increase in Australia to AU$2899 base, I just couldn’t do it.

Great, one more Netbook that works with MacOS X. So far I know about

Now, can someone please come up with an affordable Netbook with a built-in 3G card before christmas? Preferrably the Lenovo S10.

Mac OS 7.5 on Nintendo DS

Now this is finally a reason to get a DS:

If they manage to make the OS use the real DS screen estate so you don’t have to scroll around all the time I might actually consider getting a DS just to run that one app.

AMAZING. YOu guys rock!

Boot Camp

When I first read about Boot Camp, my reaction was identical to Matthew’s: I checked the calendar to see whether it was April 1st.

To be honest, I’m still not sure what to make of it. The fact that Apple stock climbed 5 percent tells me analysts don’t grok MacOS. Or at least they think they’ve seen the start of its demise.

IMHO, without MacOS, the MacBook is just a high end Dell. Don’t go there, Steve. Please.

UPDATE: We were not the only ones to think of april fools.

And it didn’t take long to have the first BSOD on a Mac ;( . That’s the beginning of the end… or the best reason to stick with MacOS ;)
