Matthew points me to great news about our favourite singer: Joe Jackson has re-united with his old band for a new album and a tour next spring!
I went to see Joe two years ago, when we were waiting for Mara to arrive. Looking at possible tour dates for next year it seems I will have to take my mobile phone to the concert yet again :)
Today I went to a shop to get the new Phil Collins CD called “Testify”. The songs I heard on the radio sounded nice, and I own all other Phil Collins CDs already. Unfortunately the CD was labelled “Copy Protected”.
I usually convert new CDs to MP3 in iTunes, then listen to them either on my iBook, my iPod or as MP3 CD in my DVD player or my MP3 car stereo and leave the original CD in the shelf with the other 800 CDs I own.
Phil seems to agree with his record company that doing this is theft of his intellectual property and he therefore doesn’t want me to listen to his music on my iPod.
I didn’t buy the CD.
Ever since I read the review on the Empire Builder bag I lusted for one. Seeing someone from Tom Bihn come out on The Gadgeteer’s comments board and speaking for the company only made me like the company more. Unfortuantely, shipping costs to europe are crazy, so I resisted.
I got my chance when I heard about the upcoming trip to Chicago: I emailed Darcy from Tom Bihn and checked availability, and she arranged to have it sent to my hotel in the exact 4 days I spent there. That was one perfect shopping experience, and the bag is as good as it gets. Highly recommended!
