PowerBook at war

flattr this!

Major Shawn Weed is going to bring the Army’s only Macintosh into the desert, because it lets him work on satellite images faster than the Panasonic toughbook he was offered [via wired.com]. As much as I’m a Mac fan, I’m not sure if this is something to be proud about.

Russell discovers Macintosh

flattr this!

Patriotism in business

flattr this!

Now we’re getting silly: this (german) article talks about a US company stopping to order goods from a german supplier (although they’ve been extremely happy with quality and price up to now) because germany doesn’t support the US in the Iraq crisis. I always thought patriotism was a stupid thing, but now there’s proof.

Doc Searls compares WiFi to toilets

flattr this!

“Earth to Starbucks: Get another provider and give away the wi-fi for free, like milk and sugar. You’re gonna be doing it eventually anyway. Wi-fi is just another utility provided by businesses and municipalities as a civic grace, like toilets and light. Customers and citizens are already on the case. Follow the market. Take the loss and lead with it.” via [The Doc Searls Weblog]
