    18-55 is better for beginners. 35mm is more expensive and it is for professionals.

    Not sure I’d agree…

    Granted, the 18-55 is a good all purpose lens, but it excels in nothing. The 35mm 1.8 is about the cheapest APS-C lens you can buy, and at f1.8 it is quite fast and will allow you to do lots of things the 18-55 can’t do.

    _I_’m using the 35mm and 50mm 1.8 exclusively – sure, there are some wide shots I can’t take, but I’d rather make sure the ones I end up taking are as good as they can be.
