Why does every iTunes update kill my shortcut?

I have a shortcut to iTunes in my Taskbar. After every iTunes update, it loks like this:

Can anybody tell me why this happens? iTunes.exe is in the exact same location where it was before the update, so what happens to the shortcut?

I don’t get Windows…
