You can't transfer from your PC to a Nokia with Sony ericsson PC suite, you will have to go to Nokia home page and down load Nokia's PC suite and then set up the 6230 with the bluetooth ie pass keys etc...

I have a bluetooth dongle and i wanted to add some of my laptop's pictures onto my daughter's nokia 6230i so i downloaded Nokia PC Suite and when i connect via the dongle and try and transfer it across with the file manager installed within the PC Suite it comes up with "Connection Lost"..

I have nokia pc suite 6.81 installed in my pc. The only problem is that i don't use it regularly and its quite annoying to wait for it to load every time i start my computer because It has slowed down my system startup considerably.

I ran into the same problem but found a much simpler way to solve it on my own. At least it worked for me as I now have 6.8.22 working fine on my system.

First I ran system restore to restore to a point just prior to when I first installed 6.8.22, which got me back to 6.7x. Then I used add remove programs to remove everything related to Nokia. Rebooted. Installed 6.8.22 again. Rebooted. Opened PC Suite and let the program reinstall all necessary drivers for my cable and phone. Everything now works fine including all connection types, using the phone as a modem etc. I did not have to mess with the registry.

But, why did Nokia delete the wallpaper module from this newer version of PC Suite?

Also could not use Nokia PC Suite when I downloaded latest update.

Wanted to use 6682 as modem. Worked first time. Have to reset settings on One Touch Access to your wireless carrier.

Here's the solution which worked fine:

"1. Unininstall Nokia PC Suite and the cable drivers (if exist) + Nokia PC Connectivity Solutions from Control Panel -> Add/Remove Program.
2. Reboot computer.
3. Run Nokia Register Clean with option 'I receive an error message'. The program can be downloaded from here
4. Run Nokia Register Clean from above again but now select 'Other problem'.
5. Reboot the computer.
6. Check the permission in the registry with command: regedit -> under Start -> Run -> for the following paths;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PCSuite
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Nokia
To check permission you rightclick on the folder and select 'Permissions'. Make sure all users/groups are set to full access on on the paths above.
7. Reboot the computer.
8. Install Nokia PC Connectivity Solution from C:\Documents and Settings"your_username"\Local Settings\Temp\Nokia_PC_Connectivity_Solution.msi
The folder Local Settings can be hidden. In that case press Tools -> Folder Option -> View -> Mark "Show hidden files and folders".
9. Install Nokia PC Suite 6.8
10. Pray to God that it helped ;-)
