Dave Kearns complains that people don’t seem to get identity management.
I don’t doubt his observations at all. Reading this shows again how bad we are at explaining new concepts to the target audience. Part of this may be due to the fact that not everybody explaining stuff has understood it completely, or the one getting the explanation adds his own meaning.
Anyway, this is definitely an area where we need to be better. And we need to find expressions that are easier to understand from the beginning. The different meaning Dave gets in his survey may well be the result of a wording that is too fuzzy and really *can* mean all those things people think it does.
