Heiko Hebig is annoyed that US subcsription rates for magazines are WAY lower than german ones, one of the reasons being that consumer protection acts make it impossible for german companies to make huge discounts.
The same thing happened only recently when Apple announced that the iTunes Music Store co-operation with Pepsi would also start in germany, amongst other countries. With one difference: in the US, you can get a song per bottle, in germany you need to collect tokens from 4 bottles to get one song.
You guessed it – there’s a law prohibiting making gifts with purchases that surpass a certain percentage of the good’s value.
